Trade Support

EU Trade Guidance & Support

Accessing reliable guidance is essential when navigating trade between the UK and the EU.
Below is a curated collection of key government resources, operational guidance and support
contacts to help importers, exporters, hauliers and freight professionals stay informed and prepared.

General Information

The UK Government has published a wide range of practical guidance covering the general
requirements for trading with the EU, including webinars designed to support businesses
across different sectors and trading scenarios.

  • Short Straits traffic
  • Trade with Northern Ireland
  • Fresh produce
  • Importing and exporting goods

Border Operating Model

The Border Operating Model provides an overview of the key processes
businesses may need to follow, including temporary arrangements affecting cross-border trade operations.

The third edition, issued on 6 January, also includes information on
HMRC Inland Border Facilities.

Transit Guidance

We continue to see a high volume of enquiries relating to Transit,
particularly from businesses and operators who are less familiar with the process.

While the main manual runs to around 900 pages, the shorter supplementary
guide of approximately 111 pages provides more accessible and practical support.

Haulier Information

The Department for Transport has published guidance for road hauliers,
including the processes and documentation required when operating in the EU.

Hauliers and forwarders can also notify HMRC if they intend to attend a specific inland border facility.
